How to Lose Fat and Keep It Off

by Cindy Papp

Are you trying to lose fat or lose weight - or both? There are many out there who lose weight only to still look fat - just smaller. Perhaps you are one of those people and have decided this time you will get serious with a fat loss program.

Losing fat is difficult and can seem like an unreachable goal. Learning why you are fat may help you to keep it simple and help you to have an easier time losing fat and keeping it off.

Changing any habit including diet is hardest during the first few days. This is normal for anyone. The problem arises as intense cravings take over. On top of this, we are bombarded with the marketing of light foods or fat free foods that do not work. Often, these foods are no better than their regular counterparts. (Think about it - will "light baloney" help you lose weight?)

Obesity in of epidemic proportions in America at a rate of 68% of the population. The trend is growing in spite of modern diet efforts. This is blamed on hormonal imbalances, junk food, genetics and lack of self-control. We now know that any of these may be a factor in higher body fat. Unfortunately, nothing is working including modern diets and weight loss drugs. It is time for a change of philosophy.

What is the problem? You have been given wrong information for years. We have all been misguided. One example is that too many calories make you fat. This philosophy implies that if you eat less calories, you will lose weight. But what about fat? If your diet consists of 1200 calories but in the cookie form, will you lose weight? Perhaps, but not the fat.

All fats in food are bad is another lie you have been told. Some people still believe that avocados make you fat. Now we know there are different kinds of fat and some are necessary. In fact, if you do not eat "good fats," you can cause a range of health issues from hormonal imbalances to depression and heart disease. The truth is that good fats like Omega 3's and 6's are needed for good health and help you lose fat!

The worst of the misinformation you've been told is that your body can cleanse itself. A "board certified nutritionist" even claimed that you can eat what you want and your body can cleanse out what it doesn't need. This statement should make you angry. We know better than that. He is trying to convince you that if you eat what you don't need including excess fat and calories, your body will eliminate it.

This is proven wrong every single day. Too many people are overweight and can't lose fat. This is because if you eat too many calories, your body doesn't eliminate them. Your body stores them! In addition, it is not just a matter of calories. It is the kind of calories that also counts.

Many of our foods are processed with chemicals that stay in the food. The problem is that your body does not have the necessary gene code to tell it what to do with man-made chemicals. This can cause problems since it is known that toxins from chemicals and even metals can be stored in the fatty areas and in the fat cells themselves.

The truth is that your body needs help cleansing. As your body becomes over-burdened, it becomes suppressed and cannot do what it is made to do such as eliminating waste or cleansing. It is proving to be true that stored toxins can make it more difficult to lose fat. Recent studies have uncovered the fact that certain toxins interfere with hormones and can even mimic hormones.

Now the worst news - we are animals and all animals get parasites. Just because our technology is more advanced and chemicals abound doesn't make us immune to this problem. If this were true we should also be immune to bacteria and virus. But, even though we cannot see them, we know they exist and can hurt us, so we take precautions and even take antibiotics to combat the problem.

Parasites are a health issue that the medical community has ignored. It is an unpleasant subject and many of us simply don't want to hear it. Unfortunately, ignoring a problem will not make it go away. Cultures have been using forms of dietary parasite control of centuries. You see some in modern day habits such as chewing pumpkin seeds, serving wasabi and ginger with raw fish and taking garlic cloves on a regular basis. It is only with the advent of recent technology that we have decided to stop using these preventive measures.

So think about it - why are we addicted to junk food? Why is it so hard to overcome cravings? If self control is the issue, wouldn't mankind have died off due to eating ourselves to death? Here's what is really happening; parasites excrete waste into our bodies. Some doctors claim this waste can accumulate in and around the hypothalamus throwing it off balance and inhibiting its function. This in turn will cause your body to store more fat.

The bottom line is this; if you want to lose fat, you must eliminate the cause that is making you fat or you risk gaining it all back in a short time. Cleansing is a must and using a parasite program can help many. Eliminate all junk and processed foods, eat mostly fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains and cleanse your body. When done properly, you can gain more energy, hold on or regain that youthful look and stay healthier and lose fat for life.
